Into the Darkness

She sits huddled
in the darkest corners
of her mind, head bowed.

She hugs her knees
seeking comfort.

Her heart is heavy.
She feels alone. Lost.
More arguments,
more misunderstandings.

Arrows of fear
Pierce her heart
There can be no pretense.

Nothing will change the fact,
that her soul has awakened.

There is no turning back.
