OFELIA PRODAN – poetry

OFELIA PRODAN

………………..

Fire-hot hands slap me across the lips
Open your mouth and spit out your teeth
Pick dandelion flowers with your gums
Chew it chew it all swallow it swallow it all
Hands of tar cover my eyes
See through the darkness how the undead walk beneath the earth
I came from a sunny place
With clear and cold waters
A place where people can touch the clouds with their fingers
They can tear off soft, fluffy pieces
Like burnt cotton candy and taste while lightnings
flash through their body with love
There no one’s afraid to kill or die
But I’ve come to this new world, a lost one and a wanderer
My teeth are broken and my bones are shattered
I crawl and pick with my gums dandelion flowers
I swallow dandelion flowers
My eyes have run through the swamps
I cry straight from my eye sockets
I want to go home but this is home
My old heart is my father’s faulty watch
Ticking in the void my father was a soldier
Died in his sleep killed with morphine by a jealous nurse
She’s my mother I look at her with dread
Through her naked body I crawl with nowhere to go
I grow scales and claws I turn into a reptile
I don’t know who I am where I come from
Never has the sky been brighter and farther away
