Puhu minulle rakkaudesta

Puhu minulle rakkaudesta:
sanoja jotka on monesti kuultu ja nähty,
sanoja joita on sanottu mitään tarkoittamatta,
kuluneita, käytettyjä sanoja, halpoja, kevyesti annetuja,
sanoja vailla mitään uutta.
Puhu minulle rakaudesta.
Sinun huuliltasi

cuvinte fara nimic nou.

Vorbeste-mi despre dragoste.
De pe buzele tale
cuvintele beau prospetimea.
………………………………..
Talk to me about love:
words which were so many times heard and seen,
words that have been said meaning nothing,
worn out, used words, cheap, lightly given,
words without anything new.
Talk to me about love.
From your lips
words drink themselves into freshness.

I’m Nobody! Who are you? / Eu sunt Nimeni! Tu esti cine?

I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

Emily Dickinson

…………………………………………………………………………………

Eu sunt Nimeni !Tu esti cine ?
Tot – Nimeni – ca si mine?
Suntem pereche deci!
Nu spune! Reclama fac – stii bine!

Ce groaznic – sa fii – Cineva!
Public – Broasca la fire –
in Iunie – sa strigi un nume
si-o Balta sa te-admire!

How many Flowers fail in Wood –

How many flowers fail in Wood –
Or perish from the Hill –
Without the privilege to know
That they are Beautiful –

How many cast a nameless Pod
Upon the nearest Breeze –
Unconscious of the Scarlet Freight –
It bear to Other Eyes –

Emily Dickinson

Cîte Flori prin Pădure cad-
Ori de pe Deal pier crunt –
Făr-a-vea dreptul de a sti
Cat de frumoase sunt –

Si cate anonime coji
Se pierd in Vant ruina-
Uitand de Rosia Samanta –
A Altor Ochi lumina –

Because I could not stop for Death – / Cum Moartea nu putui s-astept

Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.

We slowly drove – He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility –

We passed the School, where Children strove
At Recess – in the Ring –
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –
We passed the Setting Sun –

Or rather – He passed Us –
The Dews drew quivering and Chill –
For only Gossamer, my Gown –
My Tippet – only Tulle –

We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground –
The Roof was scarcely visible –
The Cornice – in the Ground –

Since then – ’tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses’ Heads
Were toward Eternity –

Emily Dickinson
……………………………… ……………………
Cum moartea nu putui sa-astept –
M-astepta ea, prea buna –
Trasura-i ne-avea doar pe noi –
Cu vecia-mpreuna.

Mergeam usor – nu pas grabit
Iar eu lasai deoparte
Munca-mi si zilnicul ragaz,
Spre-a Ei Civilitate –

Lasaram scoala, cu Copii
Luptand – insufletit –
Lasaram Campurile-aurii –
Soarele-n asfintit –

Mai bine zis – El ne-a lasat –
Fior de roua rece –
Subtire rochia-mi era –
Simteam frigul cum trece –

Ne-opriram lang-o casa ce
Parea ca o movila –
Acoperisul nevazut –
Cornisa in Argila –

De-atunci – sunt Secole – si tot
Pare o Zi menit
Mereu simtii ca acei Cai
Mergeau spre Infinit –

Coincidence

By the time you swear you’re his,
Shivering and sighing,
And he vows his passion is
Infinite, undying –
Lady, make a note of this:
One of you is lying.

Life / Viata

Emily-Dickinson

Life

My life closed twice before its close;

It yet remains to see

If Immortality unveil

A third event to me,

So huge, so hopeless to conceive,

As these that twice befell.

Parting is all we know of heaven,

And all we need of hell.

Emily Dickinson

Viata

De doua ori cortina a cazut

ramâne a se vedea

de Nemurirea pe-a mea scena

un act trei va juca,

un act prea greu de conceput

ca cele de-altadat’,

Plecarea-i tot ce stim de Rai,

si tot ce vrem din Iad.

A song

POSTED IN classic poetry, translated English-Romanian February 5, 2018

A song

I wish you were here, dear,
I wish you were here.
I wish you sat on the sofa
and I sat near.
the handkerchief could be yours,
the tear could be mine, chin-bound.
Though it could be, of course,
the other way around.

I wish you were here, dear
I wish you were here.
I wish we were in my car,
and you’d shift the gear.
we’d find ourselves elsewhere,
on an unknown shore.
Or else we’d repair
To where we’ve been before.

I wish you were here, dear,
I wish you were here.
I wish I knew no astronomy
when stars appear,
when the moon skims the water
that sighs and shifts in its slumber.
I wish it were still a quarter
to dial your number.

I wish you were here, dear,
in this hemisphere,
as I sit on the porch
sipping a beer.
It’s evening, the sun is setting;
boys shout and gulls are crying.
What’s the point of forgetting
If it’s followed by dying?

Un cantec

Sa fii aici as vrea, draga mea
Sa fii aici as vrea.
As vrea ca eu sa pot sta
langa tine pe canapea.
Batista ar putea fi a ta
lacrima ar putea fi a mea, pe barbie
desi desigur s-ar putea
si invers sa fie.

Sa fii aici as vrea, draga mea
Sa fii aici as vrea.
as vrea sa fim in masina
si tu viteza ai schimba.
Altundeva ne-am putea regasi
pe-un tarm necunoscut
de nu, am putea reveni
la locul doar de noi stiut.

Sa fii aici as vrea, draga mea
Sa fii aici as vrea.
as vrea sa nu stiu astronomie
cand stelele-ar aparea
cand luna cutremura apa invinsa
ce ofteaza foind in somn bun
as vrea ca luna sa fie o fisa
telefonul sa-ti sun.

Sa fii aici , draga mea, as vrea
Sa fii in emisfera mea.
eu stand  pe veranda
o bere as savura..
E seara, soarele-asfinteste ;
baietii si pescarusii tipa.
uitarea ce sens mai meneste
daca in moarte totul se-nfiripa ?

The laughing heart / Inima care rade

POSTED IN contemporary poetry, translated English-Romanian November 8, 2017

The Kid (1921) Directed by Charles Chaplin Shown from left: Charles Chaplin (as Tramp), Jackie Coogan (as The Kid)

The laughing heart / Inima care rade
your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

Charles Bukowski
…………………………………………………………….
Inima care rade
Viata ta e doar a ta
n-o lasa lovita In supunere umilitoare.
fii atent.
exista cai de iesire.
exista lumina undeva.
n-o fi chiar multa lumina insa
e oricum mai buna decat bezna.
fii atent.
zeii iti vor da sanse.
cunoaste-i.
cuprinde-i.
nu poti birui moartea insa
poti birui moartea in viata, uneori.
si cu cat mai des vei invata sa o faci
cu atat va fi mai multa lumina.
viata ta e doar a ta.
cunoaste-o atata vreme cat o ai.
tu esti minunat.
zeii asteapta sa se bucure
in tine.
