Time in a frame<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She\u2019s tall, dark-haired, with sparkling eyes,
\nher fingers swift and sure,
\nbent over piano she cries,
\nher white neck\u2019s long and pure.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s twenty two or twenty three,
\nand to the angels talking
\nshe needs not notes for melody,
\nshe plays as if sleepwalking.<\/p>\n

The photo speaks volumes of her
\nand of that time in amber.
\nShe is with child, her music slur
\nher wings, her joy, her cumber.<\/p>\n

She died in child birth, Christmas Eve.
\nHer daughter is my mother.
\nShe gave us all a life to grieve.
\nA woman like no other.<\/p>\n

In this photo she\u2019ll always be
\nforever young and pregnant.
\nShe knows not that from her to me
\nTime will be framed incessant.<\/p>\n

This photo is a last image
\nOf my grandmother\u2019s life.
\nShe always will be that age,
\nmother to be and wife.
\nI play her piano these days.
\nI look like her, been told.
\nShe is in silence, I\u2019m in maze
\nShe is young, I am old.<\/p>\n

I kiss her photo, black and white
\nI smile: how odd and funny,
\nwhen time she stopped she had the sight:
\nI\u2019m older than my grannie!<\/p>\n
