Sur\u00eed ? Obisnuinta… Cred c-as putea chiar r\u00eede:
\nTu spui c\u00e3-n cea mai dulce iubire-i o prigoan\u00e3 ?
\n\u00cem\u00ee amintesc: pe-o veche si stranie icoan\u00e3
\nE un martir ce-si duce t\u00e3iatu-i cap la g\u00e2de.
\nCu inima-mi asijderi s-a petrecut demult:
\nS-a str\u00e3mutat \u00een tine si m-a l\u00e3sat strigoi…
\nTu nu stii c\u00e3 ea bate acuma pentru doi ?
\nNu simti \u00een piept adaos de glorios tumult ?
\nNecontenit \u00een preajma-ti, s\u00e3 sug r\u00e3suflet, s\u00eenge,
\nM-aduce ca din groapa misterioas\u00e3 sete…
\nC\u00eend plec, ajung acas\u00e3 o umbra pe perete,
\nCa-n palida icoan\u00e3 ce-aievea m\u00e3 r\u00e3sfr\u00eenge…
\nZimbesc ? Obisnuinta… Cred c-as putea chiar r\u00eede;
\nStiu un nebun ce-si duce cap, inima… la g\u00e2de.<\/p>\n

I smile? A habit only…I’d even laugh defiant:

\nAn ancient and strange icon is always reminding
\nof a martyr that’s carrying his severed head to the tyrant.
\nThe same thing happened also to my heart long ago:
\nShe moved inside your body and left me as a ghost…
\nDon’t you know that she’s beating for you and I the most?
\nDon’t you feel an odd beating in a tumultuous echo?
\nUnceasingly around you, to suck your breath, your blood,
\nA mystic thirst wakes me, as from grave I’d been brought…
\nA shadow on the wall I go home like a thought,
\nlike in the pallid icon that mirrors my own mud…<\/p>\n
