Du graubrauner Gro\u00dfstadtigel,
h\u00e4ltst zwischen staubigen Grashalmen an
und erzitterst
mit deinen Stacheln
bei jedem der schweren Stiefeltritte
auf dem Asphalt.
Im Licht der zahllosen Stra\u00dfenlaternen
bist du sehr gut zu erkennen.
Doch du hockst still im Gras und willst
wie die Erde sein, unregistriert,
bis die Gefahr vor\u00fcber ist.
Sollte ich \u00e4hnlich sein?

You grey-brown urban hedgehog,
you stop between dusty blades of grass
and tremble
with your spikes
with every heavy boot-step
on the asphalt.
In the light of the countless street lamps
you are very easy to recognize.
But you sit quietly in the grass and want to
be like the earth, unregistered,
until the danger has passed.
